NORWALK, CT—Police body-camera footage captured the moments a person was pulled from a sailboat that caught fire near Greens Ledge Lighthouse in Norwalk on Sunday.

The person standing on the ledge of the burning vessel got onto the rescue boat and thanked the officer, the video shows. The officer, with a fire extinguisher in hand, asked the victim if he knew where the fire was before moving the boat away from the blaze, the video shows.

Police said officers from the Marine Unit and firefighters responded to the blaze Sunday afternoon.

The fire ended up being extinguished once firefighters arrived as it became too large to attempt to extinguish, police said.

Police added the person rescued from the boat was uninjured in the ordeal.
