2 CHP Officers Struck & Injured by Vehicle

Jan. 11, 2018
Two officers reported struck on Interstate 40 in the Inland Empire region of CA.

In another example of why drivers need to slow down and/or move over to avoid hitting any emergency personnel performing their duties on the roadside, two California Highway Patrol officers were injured after being struck by a car on Interstate 40 in the Inland Empire region of CA on Tuesday, 1/9/18. One of the officers was seriously injured.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the two officers were investigating another incident along that stretch of the interstate when they were struck. As is the case most of the time, the officers were outside of their patrol vehicle when they were hit.

The identities of the officers has not been released but further updates are pending.
