Training and Experience:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Completion of a Colorado P.O.S.T. approved basic law enforcement academy, including skills and firearms training.
Experience: One year of peace officer experience.

Archuleta County Sheriffs office is currently accepting application for the position of Patrol Deputy. Applicants must have the equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and completion of a Colorado P.O.S.T approved basic law enforcement, including skills and firearms training. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age upon hire, pass a background examination, possess a valid Colorado Driver's License, possession of, or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and Colorado P.O.S.T. Peace Officer certifiable.
