Laser Shot, Inc. is looking for a professional individual that can assist our Law Enforcement Content Development and Training Department. The desired applicant will have had past experience in the law enforcement community and possess general knowledge of firearms, use of force options and be comfortable in an instructional capacity.

This position is responsible for assisting in developing video-based scenario content to be used in conjunction with military and law enforcement training solutions. This position also requires the applicant to conduct product training.

Primary Duties:

Coordinate productions with members of law enforcement, military and other agencies; researches content and scripts for instructional interactive products.

Interviews content experts and recruits actors for production; establishes production schedules by procuring props, vehicles and shooting locations.

Gathers material and writes scripts; edits raw footage by applying techniques such as digital technology; operates a variety of equipment to design and execute computerized editing.

Gathers, transports, operates and maintains production equipment such as cameras, VCR, audio cables, adaptors, microphones, mixers, monitors, lighting, batteries, reflectors, etc.; troubleshoots defective equipment as necessary.

Supervises, produces and develops video training programs from original concept to completed project.

Conducts background research to evaluate client needs and determine action; interviews content experts; writes scripts; rehearses actors; directs recording sessions and the work of talent during taping.

Maintain the company product video library including updating and documenting revisions or changes.

Remain current on training procedures, laws, rules, regulations and legislation through training courses, meetings, publications or research.

Secondary Duties:

Instructs customers in product training and evaluates course materials, delivery and content to determine if course performance objectives are met.

Assist in developing, implementing and modifying program curriculum, content and/or materials for existing and new training programs.

Consult with outside local, state, and federal training personnel to monitor training activities, regional issues, needs and requests.

Effectively communicate both orally and in writing at all levels.

Work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions.

Perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.

Organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks to complete job functions in an orderly, efficient manner.

Complete assignments within a designated deadline.

Develop, lead or participate in teams or workgroups.

Adapt to changing priorities.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of assignment.

Make oral presentations to individuals or groups.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Law enforcement training activities, standards and programs.
  • Use and maintenance of various audio-visual equipment and other training materials.
  • Operation of a personal computer and job-related software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, database creation and maintenance, information storage and retrieval, and related tasks.
  • English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Current office practices and procedures.

ABILITY TO:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% with no restrictions on travel domestically or internationally.
  • Nation wide travel is required to perform certain work functions.
  • Schedule, organize, and coordinate training programs.
  • Prepare reports, compose correspondence, and effectively communicate with other staff and the general public.
  • Perform routine research.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment with managers, supervisors, other company employees and other law enforcement organizations.
  • Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically requires 2-5 years of directly related training experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Responsible for the administering all computer based training classes, including loading into computer system, completing reports and product support for users.
  • Assists the company Training Coordinator in administering, organizing and delivering product training programs.
