An Eatonton, Ga. police officer suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday night while breaking up a fight at a McDonald's.
Officer Noel Hawk and two other officers responded to a call reporting a fight between a juvenile and an adult at the fast food restaurant in the 100 block of Oak Street around 8 p.m., according to WSB-TV.
The situation was initially diffused, but then re-escalated. While arrested the two suspects, Hawk collapsed.
A bystander attempted to perform CPR on the officer, but was unsuccessful.
Hawk was then transported to a local hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.
