Two police officers in Manchester, New Hampshire were shot and the suspected gunman was being sought early Friday morning.
Officials said that the officers were wounded in two separate shootings on the city's west side around 2 a.m., according to WMUR-TV.
The first officer was shot in the area of Ferry and Second Street while the second officer was shot just minutes later near Putnam and Dubuque Street.
Manchester Police Chief Nick Willard told reporters that both officers were transported to a local hospital and are expected to be OK.
Police are searching for a white male with long hair and a green trench coat and have cordoned off several blocks in the area of the shootings.
West High School, Gossler Park School, Northwest Elementary School, Parker-Varney School and Parkside Middle School were closed due to the active search.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's office and a Massachusetts State Police helicopter are currently assisting with the search for the gunman.
