Police Unity Tour Arrives at Officers Memorial

Over 2,000 members of the Police Unity Tour completed their long journey to Washington, DC.

Over 2,000 members of the Police Unity Tour completed their long journey to Washington, DC. Thursday afternoon.

Riders who traveled hundreds of miles over the past three days arrived around 2 p.m. to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial as part of National Police Week 2016.

Friends, family and supporters gathered, waving signs and cheering on the participants as they finished their long ride.

Participants not only trained hard for the 300 mile average ride but also raised money to provide awareness and financial support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

A brief ceremony was held after the riders arrived as the Police Unity Tour presented a check for $2.32 million to Craig W. Floyd, President & CEO of the the Natioinal Law Enforcmeent Officers Memorial Fund.
