Winner of a 2011 Cygnus Innovation Award for new products nabbed the award based on the simplicity of the company, Riverside Ventures, solution: a smart accessory in its modest design and affordable price tag (less than $6), officers have taken notice of the credit-card size supporter and adopted it to fix the ever-present, oft-ignored uniform problem: floppy badge syndrome. The company reached out to its Badgekeeper customers to gather photos showing the different items they've used to support their badges. Items range from plastic straws, pen springs, to cardboard from notepads and orange juice carton cut outs.
Badgekeeper founder and president Mike Kenny says he's just glad he "beat them to the patent office."
