ShotLock released of its new shotgun mechanical lock. "2013 presented some challenges for us with the product." said Sales & Marketing Director Don Fenton. "We had great demand for the product and a solid growth curve, we just got to a point where our lock manufacturer could not supply that demand. We made a decision then and there to commit to developing our own lock, and to make it better. It’s been a learning experience for sure but one that we and the product are the better for."
The new locks have taken over a year to develop and test. The end result is a lock that is more durable and possesses features that add value to the end user. The new mechanical locks feature a more ergonomic 8 button design with more spacing to help eliminate missed combo entries. Also new is a lock-clutch feature that prevents someone from continuously spinning the lock handle in an attempt to break in. Most importantly is a new key override feature that enables access to your weapon if you have somehow forgotten your combination. "Over the last 4 years we have watched closely what was going on with our product. We really had very few issues however forgotten combos was one of the biggest...a key override will help with that, plus we provide 3 additional keys so if those get lost well...we will still have to give you drill out instructions!" said Fenton.
Mechanical shotgun versions are available now with handgun availability following at the end of the month. All new electromechanical versions of both Shotgun and Handgun ShotLock product will be available mid-January 2015 and will incorporate the same new features its mechanical sister now employs.
