Props Jeff!
Gotta take my hat off to you, Jeff. I started in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter/EMT and moved up the ranks. I used that experience to land a job as the head of a HazMat team for Micron here in VA. I was promoted at the FD to Captain, and then became a Battalion Captain covering half of our County. I was the primary volunteer HazMat responder when the paid staff was gone. I loved my job and fighting fires and cleaning up gooey messes, but one day I watched a K-9 training session near the office. After many long long talks with the head of the Manassas City Police K-9 section, I too jumped to the dark-side. I'm not as active in the FD as I used to be, but I'm still a member there... In fact, I am now a Lifetime Member. I love both sides! Keep up the good work, cuz Lord knows it is not easy to do either.
