Criminals
Criminals with badges like these hurt the reputation of all of us that are honest, fair, and hardworking officers. Lock em up and throw away the key.

This should Prove that when the hiring standards for LEO's are "lowered", the end result will be Criminals With Badges. Law Enforcement positions used to be coveted, now when you make contact with an LEO, you are more afraid that it is a " Thug " with a badge. This bad situation Can Be Changed. Demand High Standards and Acept Only those who Qualify. I had much rather have Quality over Quanity Anyday.

CHICAGO makes New Orleans look honest.
Four days ago Americas Most Wanted profiled a retired Chicago Sgt who ran a criminal drug enterprise and is now on the run.
Crap like this makes me never mention to anyone I retired after 25 yrs.

You know these stories are always terrible to hear. Even worse are the people they are about. A fact remains though and that is many many many more GREAT things are done by police officers on a daily basis that are not and will not ever be headline news. Sure you see headlines of good things, but you wont ever see those things IN GIANT BOLD LETTERS above every other news story. That is a shame. The Harvey PD story is a sad one, but far from the majority- The Harvey PD story is old news....why it continues to be reported as "new" is beyond me.

Its a Shame
These Police today, are worst than Jason on Friday the 13th.
Imagine riding in the backseat with one of them. And then, look up and see his face looking through the rear view mirror. Thats a good name for them.
Instead of being Law Enforcers. They should've got a job in the movies with him.
One thing for sure, it wouldn't look like no sleigh ride thats for sure.

I always wondered if the hard work as a honest cop would ever be noticed. These criminals who slip through the cracks and abuse their badge for what? A jail cell. I know many guys who would work and be honest doing the job. Maybe If the politicians in Illinois and elsewhere would stop handing the jobs to cronies the people with integrity would get the jobs. As a cop always do the right thing and never betray your star. That is my approach to the job.

A net full of small fish
Once again the big, bad feds have landed a net full of small fish out of Chicago. What is it with the feds? Are we supposed to be impressed with their inability to land the really BIG fish in Chicago or what? Are the feds so dumb as to think that the average American will be impressed with what they did instead of getting the REAL people in the corruption? Yes, I am talking about Mayor Daley and the corrupt Chicago Democrat Machine. Impress me, feds, by putting Daley and his cronies in orange jumpsuits.

Corruption CAN be averted
After 26 +yrs as a local and state leo I can say that corruption CAN be wiped out if there was a ZERO TOLERANCE attitude with LINE SUPERVISORS. Take care of the little problems and you don't get big problems. The Line supervisor has hands on the street cops. It is equally important for the Managers and Execuutive officers to support the Line suppervisors in this regard. 99.99 % of leos dont want bad cops to bring everyone down to their low standard.

Crooked Cops
Nothing like a few bad apples to make the rest of us look bad as well. I can't tell you how many times guys have asked me what cops did with all the pot that's confiscated. When I'd tell them we burnt it, they'd reply, "Yeah a joint at a time"...Some people seem to accept that all cops are on the take. I'm retired now, but I sure feel sorry for the cops that have to put up with the constant suspicion.
