That's why cops should be allowed to fly for free, then you can take all the federal air marshals and put them where they can do some good, on inner city buses and subways.

So where did these handcuffs come from? I didn't think that was something that was allowed to be carried on board?

They were more than likely flying armed for some reason, training, court, ect. ect. Carrying cuffs with a gun is mandatory.

cuffs
I have to fly armed frequently for work, but even when I am not armed, handcuffs are in my carry-on. They are allowed by TSA rules even without LE credentials. Good job LAPD/LASO for handling this well.

This is why we should always be allowed to fly armed. I tried to fly on a family vacation and no one could tell me the rules on flying armed. This situation did not need a firearm but things can change quickly. The airlines told me one thing, TSA told me NO, and the federal air marshals told me another. So who is right? It was just easier to put my gun in my baggage and declare it. Be safe my brothers and sisters.

As far as flying armed, you need TSA certification.

Numerous classes are available (translation: money making racket by "consultants").
