Man Claiming to Be Sheriff Rapes Florida Woman

REDDICK, Fla. --

A man claiming to be the sheriff forced his way into a woman's home early Wednesday morning and raped her, deputies said.

Deputies said the man knocked on the door of a Reddick home, which belonged to a 67-year-old retired school bus driver.

The man pointed a gun at the woman's head and put a towel on her face during the attack, deputies said.

Marion County detectives said they do not have a description of the rapist because the victim's face was covered.
