Liberty Dynamic's Enhanced Diversionary Device is a programmable, RELOADABLE, enhanced blast flash-bang designed to be safer than legacy devices still being used by the military and law enforcement.
“The problem with most stun grenades is they can go off when they aren’t supposed to, roll towards an unintended target, cause fires and scatter secondary debris,” said John Chapman, CEO of Liberty Dynamic. “All of that leads to death, injury and lawsuits.” Supported in part by a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. Air Force, is meant to solve all those problems—and be cost-efficient at the same time.
The microprocessor-controlled “smart” fuse provides:
- Precise detonation
- Greater reliability and safety for uniformed men, women, and civilians.
The Enhanced Diversionary Device also has an ergonomic, rectangular design to prevent out-of-control rolling, while the detonation itself is powered by binary energetic material. “We use a proprietary fuel-air technology that doesn’t rely on flash powder,” Chapman explained. “As a result, we cut down on fire, smoke and secondary debris being kicked up and injuring people.”
