Philly Police Offer Job to 'Broke' Kanye West

Kanye West might be $53 million in debt, but the Philadelphia Police Department has a solution to the situation: Put on a badge.
After all, as the PPD notes on Facebook and Twitter, it would only take 1,106 years to pay off that chunk of change under the force's $47,920 starting salary.
West recently announced via Twitter that he had accrued his $53 million debt as a result of his forays into the fashion industry. Previous endeavors — like West’s ill-fated Pastelle clothing line that closed after seven months of operation in 2009 — reportedly cost the rapper upwards of $30 million in some instances.
In connection with his debt, West has publicly sought financial help from Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Larry Page (Zuck appears to be a “no”). Fans, meanwhile, have started a GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the rapper's financial pressure.
This is not the PPD’s first time soliciting applicants on social media with a viral bent. In April last year, Philly cops headed up a similarly viral recruiting push with a bizarre — but popular — parody of a ‘90s Sizzler commercial.
West, unfortunately, has not yet responded to the PPD’s offer.
