OKLAHOMA-On March 25, 2021, Corporal Kyle Jeffrey Davis, of the Washington County Sheriff's Office, died after he was assaulted by an inmate at the Washington Correctional Facility.
Corporal Davis was booking a prisoner when the incident occurred. Seventeen subjects were arrested and were being booked at the jail as the result of a major, multiagency narcotics investigation. An inmate started to struggle with officers during booking and hit Corporal Davis in the chest. The officer suffered a ruptured aorta and was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Corporal Davis served with the Washington County Sheriff's Office for 13 years and is survived by his wife and children.
