ARIZONA-On April 29, 2021, Police Officer Christopher Farrar, of the Chandler Police Department, passed away. Officer Farrar was struck and killed by a vehicle; the incident happened during a stolen vehicle pursuit. Law enforcement was dispatched to a call around ten at night when the pursuit ensued. The suspect fired shots at law enforcement personnel as he drove from Pinal County into the city of Chandler. The suspect then drove through a gate and onto an airport runway. He then drove to a car dealership and it was there he struck Officer Farrar and an officer from Gilbert, Arizona.
Officer Farrar was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was taken into custody later on.
Officer Farrar served with the Chandler Police Department for eighteen years.
