The New England Patriots honored fallen Bristol police officers Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy ahead of their game with the Chicago Bears on Monday Night.
The team held a moment of silence for the officers ahead of the game, and welcomed family, friends and more than 50 members of the Bristol Police Department onto the field before the game to honor their memory.
The two officers were tragically killed in a shooting on Oct. 12, after responding to a domestic violence call.
Hamzy, who was 34, was described as a lifelong Patriots fan.
“Reports of their deaths were chilling, and serve as a reminder of the inherent risks these brave men and women accept to serve and protect us,” the Patriots’ public address announcer said.

Earlier this month, the New York Yankees honored the officers with a tribute at Yankee Stadium ahead of their playoff game with the Cleveland Guardians.
The Miami Dolphins honored Sgt. Hamzy and Lt. Demonte prior to their game on Oct. 16, hanging a jersey with Demonte’s name on the back in the locker room. The team said Demonte, 35, was a life-long Dolphins fan and was planning on attending that week’s game in Miami.
A public funeral service was held for the two officers on Friday at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
