National Sheriffs’ Association Launches Industry Action to Support Sheriff’s Offices Most Impacted by COVID-19 Pandemic
(Alexandria, VA) – The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) announced the formation of an Industry Action Group to assist sheriff’s offices and first responders as they navigate the complex COVID-19 pandemic response across the nation.
The group held its first meeting today to coordinate industry and law enforcement issues and assist sheriffs most impacted by the pandemic emergency.
“Many corporate and industry partners have asked how they can help. Sheriffs have a desperate need for N95 masks, disposable gowns, eye protection, disinfecting products, including hand sanitizer other items, to protect staff, inmates and citizens,” NSA Jonathan Thompson, CEO and executive director said. “Our deputies are working long hours, running directly into harm’s way to assist vulnerable citizens. They protect us, so we’re working tirelessly to protect them.”
Notable members include Motorola Solutions, Home Depot, LEO Technologies, NaphCare, AWS, AiRXOS part of GE Aviation, Kimble’s Food, Diamond Pharmacy and more.
Companies and individuals can assist in getting items to the highest priority offices and areas by donating to the National Sheriffs' Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) designed specifically to aid law enforcement requiring immediate relief and economic assistance.
