OFFICER Magazine Announces 2024 OFFICER Station Design Award Winners
Nashville, TN, Dec. 17th, 2024— OFFICER Magazine announced the winners of its fifth annual OFFICER Station Design Awards (OSDA) program, which recognizes outstanding architecture and design from law enforcement and public safety facilities nationwide.

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were issued across four categories of facilities in this prestigious competition: LE Facilities I, II, and III ((by size) and Public Safety Centers. All 13 participating entries will be published in the November/December issue of OFFICER Magazine and online at Officer.com.
"Each year OFFICER Media Group does the Station Design Awards, the submitted designs continue to increase in features, meeting ever-changing demands from community leadership and the citizens themselves,” Frank Borelli, Editorial Director for OFFICER Media Group, said. “The security needs and basic functions of law enforcement buildings remain as the foundational requirements that all other design features have to either build upon or work around. It's amazing to see how the architecture firms adapt to the evolving needs balancing in concert with the fairly static basic requirements."
Paul Peluso, Managing Editor for OFFICER Magazine, noted the 2024 OSDA entries displayed several trends seen in the current landscape for law enforcement facilities.
“Not only were the facilities submitted this year functional, but several of them stood out for the amenities provided to the officers and staff. When it comes to recruitment and retention, a department’s facility can play a big role in getting an officer to join, and ultimately stay.” Peluso added, “We also saw an increase in submissions of mid-sized facilities. As a lot of smaller communities across the country begin to grow in size, so do the public safety facilities.
Winners were selected by a panel of six judges, which included Major Todd Johnson, Lt. Meg Hasty and Lt. Chris Ziermann of the Clearwater Police Department in Florida, along with Amy Weber Bradlow, AIA and Emmet Van Aken, AIA from architecture firm Harvard Jolly | PBK and Chris Brown from the Ajax Building Company. The judging was held at the City of Clearwater Police Department District 3 Operations & Training Center, which opened last year.
