Hazmat Team Called for Suspicious Package at N.Y. Police Station

A suspicious package at a New York police department prompted a hazmat team response Tuesday.

The incident happened after a package delivered to a private school Monday was brought to the Spring Valley Police Department, WCBS-TV reports. The package contained plastic bags filled with an unknown substance.

A hazmat team was called in to take the package out of an abundance of caution. The building also was evacuated as a precaution.

Investigators are trying to determine if the package posed a danger.
