Being a police officer often means working hard and still having a need for a secondary employment. RollKall, which is an off-duty management platform, allows police officers to see jobs available to them and businesses get additional security. "We connect you with everyday heroes," Steven Power, President of RollKall said. This is accomplished through the RollKall platform and mobile application which has a network of both local jobs within communities and law enforcement officers. The company is able set up off-duty security jobs for law enforcement officers, providing them with an opportunity to earn more money. In return, their clients, who the majority are both LEAs and businesses, have the chance to connect sworn officers with local businesses who need additional safety and security.
"Communities need to feel safe," said Power. According to a recent survey RollKall conducted, a majority of community members said they would feel safer with a police officer in places like events, banks, grocery stores, retailers and other public venues, where they go. Power said the company helps connect law enforcement with the local community, which according to the survey, appreciates the local presence of officers.
Other highlights include:
- Nearly 90% of those who own or manage a business believe having security would help protect their business.
- More than 75% of respondents are more likely to call attention to theft if onsite security is present.
- At nearly 75%, active shooter situations and property damage were the top transgressions Americans feel law enforcement security should monitor and address.
- The presence of off-duty officers plays a significant role in women’s sense of safety, with more than 80% stating they would feel safer at work and approximately 75% stating they would be more likely to shop at a store or visit an entertainment venue with onsite security.
Also in the study, 42% of individuals who took the survey mentioned they would hire a police officer for professional, trained protection at their place of business. This brings about the point that civilians whether they be business owners, or patrons of those businesses would rather have a police officer to ensure safety. RollKall intends to expand their reach and continue to bring communities and police officers together to help bring a positive, peace officer perception about law enforcement to communities every.
