LRAD Corp.'s newly designed mobile mass notification platform, the Mobile Mass Notification System, is an integrated, self-contained, ruggedized trailer that uses a telescoping/folding mast to deploy an LRAD 360 to reach a maximum height of 30 feet, which provides highly intelligible voice communications for emergency warning and mass notification with area coverage up to 5.3 kilometers. This system was developed to provide emergency warnings and communications for a number of applications including natural disasters, such as tornados, hurricanes and flooding, and for public announcements at large outdoor events, which is where this first unit has been deployed.
Unlike the limited voice capability of legacy speaker-based systems and emergency warning siren systems, LRAD brings the same unsurpassed vocal clarity, performance and reliability of its LRAD systems to emergency warning and mass notification. The LRAD Mobile Mass Notification System clearly broadcasts real-time information, multi-language instructions and warnings in a 360° radius over distances up to 1,300 meters, for coverage of 5.3 square kilometers.
