First responders rely on their two-way radios during emergency response situations. Long shifts, lack of AC power for recharging, and operation in remote locations make it difficult to keep batteries charged during emergencies. GTS developed the Emergency Operations Charging Case (EOCC) to extend field operability of communication equipment. The charging case is an organized and efficient means to simultaneously charge up to18 radios or batteries for command posts and emergency operations using either AC or DC power. The EOCC supports Motorola or Harris/MA-Com radios. The EOCC charges multiple battery chemistries, and supports OEM or Honeywell brand batteries. The case is highly ruggedized - water resistant, dust- and crush-proof, and has an IP66 Marine rating. It is easily portable with integrated wheels and charges the portable radio batteries in 2.5 to 5 hours. The EOCC operates in extreme temperatures to ensure optimal performance in mission-critical applications.
The EOCC is a direct response to customers’ requests for a robust emergency charging solution to ensure communications is operational in severe field conditions. It was developed at the request of emergency operation field personnel within the United States military who have a real need to maintain communications in remote locations in theater or when responding to natural or other disasters, and must rely on whatever power is available. The EOCC was designed to deliver mobile power quickly and efficiently allowing for charging from an AC outlet, DC generator, or Humvee.
