ROADS is an in-vehicle mobile solution that improves first responder efficiency and safety. The Remote Office and Dispatch System (ROADS) promotes automated, confidential and efficient police work. The solution is deployed on mobile computers in police vehicles, and uses wireless networks to connect users to the police computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems (RMS). Officers are able to complete a wide variety of queries and reports from the field, reducing time spent in the office. Users can update their status, send and receive messages, and monitor activity, which significantly lessens voice-radio traffic.
