The 3M PELTOR ComTac VI Tactical Headset provides environmental listening to assist in auditory situational awareness when wearing the headset. The proprietary level-dependent digital audio circuit, in conjunction with two external environmental microphones, senses environmental sounds and reproduces those sounds inside the 3M PELTOR headset. This environmental listening capability offers amplification of soft sounds and electronic compression of loud sounds picked up by the environmental microphones.
