Officers simply open the app, select the language needed and speak naturally. SpeechTrans will instantly translate the officer’s statement and read it aloud. In turn, the victim or suspect may speak in his or her native language, and SpeechTrans will translate into English for the officer. All conversations are automatically saved to the cloud and available for future reference or court proceedings.
Although SpeechTrans can complete 80 to 90 percent of conversation strictly with automation, the app is supported by VerbalizeIt, a network of over 19,000 live, human translators covering 13 different languages.
