AOSafety Peltor has introduced a new hearing protector that combines AM/FM stereo with Peltor's unique electronic ambient listening capability to provide professional hearing protection while making noisy projects and events safer and more enjoyable. The ALERT AM/FM Radio Headset allows wearers to listen to radio programming without isolating them from the surrounding environment, all while protecting their hearing from noise that exceeds 82 decibels. The headset features an AM/FM flip switch and a knob that allows the wearer to control the radio and its volume level. A separate radio-tuning knob makes for easy station selection. The wearer may activate the ambient listening feature independently of or in conjunction with the stereo. An audio jack for radio connections and scanners is adaptable to two-way radios as well. Omni-directional cup microphones provide 360-degree external ambient listening capability that can be turned on and off.
