ORION CADStar, from Plant Equipment Inc., is a map-centric system that allows users to geographically locate incidents on a digital mapping display. Its robust feature set includes the ability to detect duplicate calls, display multiple incidents, list premise history and other information such as standard operating procedures, hazmat information, unit recommendations and more. CADStar utilizes modern multi-tier architecture with strategic integration of Web-based technologies. This platform prepares CADStar for extended Web-based functionality that can include "satellite" CAD workstations utilizing a converged network to exchange data.
