W'W Manufacturing Co. offers a Universal Charger, the UC-1. The UC-1 is a rapid charger that will charge all major Land Mobile and Amateur Radio batteries for Icom, Kenwood, Vertex, Motorola, M/A Com, Relm, Maxon, Midland and many others. If a battery is available in NIC, NiMH or Li-ion the same adapter cup will charge all three chemistries. Batteries may be charged on or off the radio. An adapter cup can be replaced with another adapter cup from a different radio manufacturer without any tools. The base of the charger remains the same. It's the adapter cup that converts an Icome charger to a Kenwooed or Vertex charger. A six station UC-6 Universal Charger is also availabe. The same adapter cups can be used with the UC-1 and UC-6 chargers.
