AOR USA, Inc. recently demonstrated its new ARL2300 remote control monitoring system that enables complete control of its AR2300 “black box” wide coverage receiver. With a high speed internet connection, the ARL2300 allows long distance computer operation of the professional grade communications receiver. From the exhibit floor of a government agency trade show in Tampa, the operator was able to remotely control an AR2300 receiver located in Tokyo – in real time! Several agencies noted possible applications could include security functions and surveillance operations. Many attendees commented that the “budget friendly pricing” combined with the opportunity to more efficiently use departmental resources made the AR2300 and ARL2300 remote control system very attractive. Control functions include changing the frequency, bandwidth and receive mode; selecting the sampling rate, a preset VFO memory, attenuator and amplifier; and adjustments to the volume and squelch control.
