SAIFE Sentry Encryption Software

May 23, 2013

Handheld announced a new offering from business partner, Ascent Rugged Mobile. The SAIFE Sentry combines Cummings Engineering’s SAIFE encryption software with Handheld’s Nautiz X1 ultra-rugged smartphone, for a tough and secure mobile solution.

The SAIFE Sentry is ideal for use by those in the military and public safety fields, as well as anyone who needs secure mobile communications. The SAIFE Sentry uses FIPS 140-2, a U.S. government computer-security standard, and a National Security Administration Suite B cryptographic core, to provide security for voice, instant message and data transmissions. PKI Certificate Management, Tactical IP Relay Network infrastructure and multi-level trust anchors enhance encryption.

The Nautiz X1 ultra-rugged smartphone meets stringent military standards for withstanding humidity, vibrations, drops and extreme temperatures, and it’s fully protected from dust, sand and water. It features a 4-inch sunlight-readable capacitive touchscreen with damage-resistant glass, runs Android 4.0 and has multiple connectivity options.
