Pryme Customer Request for Custom Solution Begets New Product
Pryme® has long been known for developing tailored solutions based on customer feedback. Pryme has the advantage of owning two manufacturing facilities, allowing them to engineer new products quickly and cost efficiently. Recently, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) approached Pryme to help solve a particular problem. They needed to find a way for officers to communicate with a Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) software application on both a cellphone and a two-way radio without having to use two separate headsets. As is their modus operandi, Pryme immediately went to work building a made-to-order solution, which resulted in the Dual Adaptor. Since then, after testing the Dual among various department, the LAPD deemed the solution successful.
Though the Pryme Dual Adapter was originally designed to fulfill a need for the LAPD, it inspired a new product release that now benefits other public-sector agencies, as well as private-sector businesses, who are using messaging apps to communicate with land mobile radios and cellular devices.
Chief among its many unique features, the Pryme Dual Adapter requires only one Apple® compatible headset or earpiece to connect the speaker and microphone audio of both a two-way radio and a smartphone or tablet. The combined audio is clear and distortion free through the earpiece of the connected audio accessory for received radio and PoC phone calls. Simple and easy to use, two-way radio calls can be initiated using the PTT/Multifunction button, while the headset button controls phone and PoC apps.
Radio operation control is enhanced further with the addition of one of Pryme’s three different wireless PTT buttons, which can be strapped, clipped or worn in almost any location. Because the Dual is powered by the radio, no battery charging is ever required.
For 30 years, Pryme has lead the way in professional-grade mobile communication accessories and Bluetooth technologies. Every industrial-strength product is engineered entirely in-house, including custom solutions that are developed for end-users and industries of all types.
