The XL-185M provides loud, clear audio and includes the same premium feature set XL users have come to expect, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and single key AES encryption. It has an intuitive user interface, with a high-visibility 3.3-inch color LCD screen that features programmable buttons, a navigation pad and easy grip knobs. Inspired by Harris’ XL family of award-winning portable radios, the XL-185M is LTE capable and, through a hardware plug-in available in early 2020, will be able to transform a vehicle into an on-the-go communications hub, providing hot spot capabilities that allow users to stay connected through LMR and LTE networks.
The Harris XL-185M was declared compliant by the Department of Homeland Security’s latest P25 CAP requirements – P25 Phase 2. This certification validates that Harris radios will operate on any manufacturers’ P25 Phase 2 CAP-compliant system, providing customers with the option of the industry’s premier converged LMR/LTE device regardless of their system infrastructure provider.
