An Ohio law enforcement agency used Assisted Patrol in separate operations this month to help arrest ID Fraud thieves.
Suspects placed fraudulent online orders and would deliver the packages to vacant homes. Officers placed Assisted Patrol inside a package and the shipper delivered it to the vacant house. Assisted Patrol notified officers when the package was picked up by the thieves. Officers responded, tracked the thieves, arrested multiple suspects and recovered additional stolen items. An ongoing investigation continues as the agency believes the theft operation is part of a larger ring of criminal activity.
Assisted Patrol added another set of arrests to its record of successes.
