Klein Electronics Designs Patent Pending Cam-Lock System in Collaboration with Sonim
Klein electronics has collaborated with Sonim Technologies to design a second patent-pending connector that enables secure connectivity of audio and data peripherals to the Sonim devices.
The first cam-lock design by Klein was for the Sonim XP5s and XP8 models. Richard Klein, CEO of Klein Electronics, Inc. states that “Sonim and Klein began working together years ago to ensure a smooth transition for commercial and public safety end users from LMR (two way radios) to smartphones that utilize applications.
The first step was to engineer our existing rugged line to function properly with the Sonim devices, which required firmware, IC chip and PCB design. The second step was to ensure that since the Sonim and Klein devices were built to very high specifications, that the “handshake” of the two were just as secure. So we designed a system by which the user could lock the two together without a complicated process”, says Klein. Now that Sonim is soon launching new devices with a different connector, they once again turned to Klein to design an all-new apparatus for connectivity.
The upcoming Sonim line will feature this Klein designed, patent-pending coupler and some not-yet-revealed Klein accessories as well.
