CyberLock Electronic Lock System

March 29, 2010

Videx manufactures the CyberLock Electronic Lock System, an affordable access control solution for police departments that want to secure their facilities and track entry to the evidence room and other critical areas. With CyberLock, departments have the opportunity to implement a system that quickly provides the physical security, auditing, and key control they need.

The CyberLock system uses the mechanical lock hardware and padlocks that are already present in law enforcement buildings. The mechanical cores in existing locks just need to be removed and replaced with CyberLock electronic cylinders. All this can be done quickly without the expensive costs of hardwiring or structural changes.

CyberLocks have no keyway to vandalize or pick and the electronic keys cannot be duplicated. Each electronic key contains permissions on what locks the key can open, with a schedule of days and times it will open those locks.  Each time the key opens a lock, a record is stored in both the key and the lock. This provides a detailed audit report of traffic into sensitive areas for management to review.
