Leonardo's ELSAG Mobile Plate Hunter are the most advanced ALPR systems on the market. These modern mobile ALPR systems benefit law enforcement agencies, parking authorities, toll operators and access control organizations looking to enhance patrol presence, add a force multiplier and improve efficiency. The Mobile Plate Hunter ALPR system can be mounted on patrol cars, capturing license plate numbers throughout an entire shift. If a suspect license plate number is read, audible and visual alarms alert the officer within milliseconds of license plate capture.
Cameras, a processing unit and proprietary software allow operators to capture images of license plates and instantaneously compare them with millions of hot list records to identify vehicles of interest. Hot lists may be updated manually or wirelessly. The alert communicates the nature of the crime or infraction associated with the plate so operators understand the risks before exiting the patrol car. Also, because the system works behind the scenes, in-car computing allows operators to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the scene.
