Deputy Douglas Leon Hanna was en route to a call around 12:10 a.m. on State Highway 54A when the crash occurred, according to The Oklahoman.
The 44-year-old deputy's vehicle was struck by a pickup truck after its driver failed to stop at a stop sign, Oklahoma State Police told the newspaper.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with an ankle injury.
