CHATHAM, Ont. - Police have charged a Toronto man after he allegedly backed up into a parked police car belonging to an officer that had just pulled him over.

Provincial police say they pulled over a man late Tuesday morning on Highway 401 near Highway 40 in Chatham, Ont.

Police say they asked the man to move his vehicle from an unsafe location, and allege the man put the car in reverse instead of park.

They say the man crashed into the parked police car behind him, causing minor damage.

Ian MacMillan, 71, is charged with speeding and one other Highway Traffic Act offence.
