SAN LEANDRO -- A 14-year-old Oakland boy has been arrested in connection with four armed carjackings in a five-day period, police said.
The teen, not being named because he is a minor, was arrested Saturday at a home on the 1000 block of 103rd Avenue in East Oakland, San Leandro police Sgt. Mike Sobek said.
Two stolen vehicles were recovered near the home, he said.
He is being held at Alameda County Juvenile Hall in San Leandro, police said.
A 15-year-old Emervyille boy, believed by police to have helped carry out the crimes, is at large, Sobek said. Police did not provide a description of the second teen.
About 1:50 p.m., Nov. 12, the teens used an automatic pistol to rob a vehicle at the intersection of Marina Boulevard and Aurora Drive, police said.
About four hours later, the pair struck again at Bayfair Center parking lot, near Macy's, Sobek said.
On Wednesday, the teens stole a vehicle at gunpoint near the Bayfair BART station, and did it again at the same location Thursday, police said.
No weapon has been recovered, Sobek said.
