Fla. Deputy Fired for Creating Fake Facebook Page

Marion County Deputy Jorge Velez allegedly had a Facebook page under the name Giorgio Armani.

A Marion County Deputy was fired Wednesday for pretending to be someone else on Facebook, the Sheriff's Office said.

According to ocala.com, Deputy Jorge Velez had a Facebook page under the name Giorgio Armani, who is a famous Italian fashion designer.

Velez adopted the online alias online and gave a false age and profession, investigators said. He used the account to meet a woman, they said.

Although his actions occurred on his own time, they discredited the agency and the profession, Sheriff Ed Dean said.

Velez had a previous disciplinary history with the Sheriff's Office
