MINNETONKA, MN -- DHS has released grant guidance for DHS Grants in the FY2008. These grants focus on three funding priorities:

  • Measuring progress against the National Preparedness Guidelines
  • Strengthening preparedness planning
  • Strengthen IED prevention, protection and recovery

The Recon Scout supports all three of these DHS grant priorities.

The Recon Scout meets the stand-alone requirement that "25% of the overall funding must address preparedness planning and mitigating the threat of improvised explosive devices." This 1.2lb robot can be immediately thrown into a dangerous situation to remotely gather information without putting an individual in harm’s way.
