The Kwikpoint Medical Visual Language Translator allows instant communication between patient and clinician by pointing to a picture symbol to request and receive key information abou t cause, symptom and treatment of the medical condition. The Kwikpoint Medical Translator was developed in partnership with doctors, EMTs and nurses. Medically relevant content includes trauma images such as slip and fall, chest pain or ingestion of toxins, a pain scale chart with Spanish text, medication instructions, as well as specialist treatment and personal identification pictures. The translator has been tested and is in use in EMS environments including ambulances and emergency response vehicles, hospital emergency rooms, fire stations and within the U.S. military.
