Medical Environmental Technologies lightweight "Retriever" is constructed to meet NFPA 1983 (current) standards. It is constructed from "Supreme Protector" Spectra fabric, the strongest man-made fiber, and is naturally tear, cut, and chemical resistant. It is the only rescue transport device that is approved for Flame Resistance (FAA). Color-coded retention straps are made of two-inch polyester webbing with dual adjustable buckles, making patient loading easy to achieve within 90 seconds. Horizontal and vertical polyester rigging bridals are already in place, and use military parachute buckles for simple and rapid adjustment in any rescue situation. No change in rigging is necessary. The device can be fitted with sectioned Fiberglass tubes that are inserted into pockets for spinal stabilization, reducing the profile to a minimum, or use with a standard spine board. Optional model has Coast Guard Approved flotation material, and floats patient in an upright position.
