The RapID Rapid Identificaion Terminal provides one-to-many fingerprint identification against an AFIS and local wanted-list searching of up to 180,000 subjects. The rugged and sealed device, by Sagem Morpho, has the ability to include mugshot and rapsheet with results. Other RapID features include forensic quality optical fingerprint sensor; a wireless communications (WiFi and cellular); runs for a full-shift on a single battery charge; is easy to use; an optional smart-card reader. The handheld biometric terminal was designed by a team of law enforcement users. It is a self-contained device capable of performing fingerprint image processing and fingerprint template extraction has a WSQ compression, which is FBI-certified. Morpho RapID can be used in spot ID checks, suspect identification, border control, driver's license check, missing persons check and to serve warrants.
