Foster + Freeman announced the Crime-lite Imager, a evidence recording system designed to meet the varying demands of forensic photography providing optimum illumination for all types of evidence and backgrounds.
Combining high sensitivity image capture and multi-wavelength illumination with simple to use software, the Crime-lite Imager is the only digital imaging system for forensic applications with two distinct modes of operation providing rapid, high quality results for users with varying degrees of photographic expertise.
Automatic Mode of operation makes the capture and enhancement of images quick and easy through the addition of preset examinations settings. Having selected a evidence type from the drop down list of options the Crime-lite Imager will automatically apply the appropriate camera, illumination and filter settings required to achieve high quality results every time.
Preset examination settings exist for the photography and enhancement of:
- Fingerprints, including commonly used chemical treatments
- Documents, handwritten and printed
- Trace Evidence, including blood, fibres, GSR etc.
Expert users may opt to take full manual control of the Crime-lite Imager system using the software’s Advanced Mode.
In this secondary mode of operation it is possible to control all camera, lighting, filter, and enhancement options including powerful post-capture image adjustment tools and processes including Hyper Spectral Imaging (requires optional FLS light source).
The Crime-lite Imager provides a complete solution for the capture and enhancement of forensic evidence. With versatile imaging and illumination hardware and two modes of operation, the system can be expected to increase laboratory efficiency through improved workflow and a guaranteed high quality of results every time.
