Active Shooter Detection System Highlighted at 2019 Honeywell End User Group Meeting
Orlando, Florida – May 1, 2019 – Shooter Detection Systems (SDS), the security industry’s leading gunshot detection provider, will return for the 5th year in a row to meet with security professionals at the Honeywell End User Group Meeting happening at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Florida May 7-9, 2019. SDS will highlight the Guardian Indoor Active Shooter Detection System at the show, showing security end users the power of the System’s integration with the Pro-Watch and the benefits of automating building emergency and notification systems during active shooter incidents.
Built from sniper detection technology used by the U.S. military in conflicts around the globe, Guardian combines proprietary acoustic gunshot detection algorithms and infrared sensors to detect gunshots in the indoor environment. The pairing of Guardian and Pro-Watch brings two leading building security solutions together that will instantly alert security teams and building occupants to the presence and location of gunshots, bringing enhanced situational awareness to first responders and critical emergency information to people inside. This is accomplished by pre-configuring Guardian gunshot events within Pro-Watch to respond automatically to shot detections and take security actions including:
- bringing associated cameras into view;
- sending audible alerts over radios and public address systems;
- initiating mass notification messages through text, email, telephone, desktop, and mobile applications;
- triggering emergency lighting and strobes;
- displaying visual alerts through LED and Digital Signage; and
- initiating building lockdown.
Guardian is widely recognized as the gunshot detection system of choice due to its roots in military-grade technology and superior performance in the field. Since 2014 the Guardian System has been in use by K-12 schools, colleges and universities, utilities, airports, Fortune 1000 corporations, public venues, and state and federal government agency buildings. Guardian’s performance has been certified by multinational governments and include Approval for U.K. Government Use by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Certification, Australian Government’s Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) Security Level 4.
