PHOENIX --

Authorities say a Serbian man wanted in Sweden for drug smuggling has been arrested in the United States.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say 44-year-old Predrag Stojanovic was turned over Thursday to the U.S. Marshals Service for extradition.

He was taken into custody June 10 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Authorities say the Stockholm District Court issued a warrant in 2002 for Stojanovic's arrest for aggravated narcotics smuggling involving 184 pounds (83 kilograms) of amphetamine.

Federal agents were working with the Phoenix FBI Fugitive Task Force when they found Stojanovic. They say Stojanovic told authorities he illegally entered the United States through Mexico in April 2010.
