SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Police in Puerto Rico say a man has shot and killed at least one person and injured another inside an unemployment office.

Island police say in a statement that the assailant fled after opening fire. Workers and customers took cover during Friday's shooting in the central town of Caguas. Police identify the man who was killed as 27-year-old Luis Lopez Rodriguez. The motive in the shooting is not immediately clear.

The newspaper El Vocero reported the assailant appeared to be arguing in a low voice with the man shortly before he pulled out a gun and fired about 15 times.
